Anne of Green Gables Attractions

Anne of Green Gables attractions pertain to the sights in the Maritime province of Prince Edward Island in Canada’s eastern section. “The Island” is famous for its dunes and beaches, as well as the home of Anne Shirley, the lead protagonist in Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

Anne of Green Gables attractions are part of Anne’s Land. This area is outlined by long stretches of sandy beaches. The fields of New Annan are part of Anne of Green Gables attractions. These fields are actually part of major potato processing plants. So, the fields seen here are acres upon acres of potatoes. Another part of Anne of Green Gables attractions is the old railway station in Kensington. This has been transformed into a library, museum and shop. There is still a train that decorates the front of the building. A section behind it is dedicated to weekend farmers markets.

Over at the Lake of Shining Water, what is perhaps the pièce de résistance of all Anne of Green Gables attractions, is the Anne of Green Gables Museum. The museum makes a home at the old residence of Lucy Maud Montgomery, which she called silver Bush. There are shops nearby for souvenirs.
