The West Edmonton Mall is a solid tourist magnet not just for Alberta residents, but for the whole country as well. Here are some of the attractions found at the mall:
Galaxyland of West Edmonton Mall
This is an indoor park, and it is one of the biggest indoor amusement parks on the face of the globe. It has no less than 24 attractions and rides, and that includes the triple-loop roller coaster nicknamed Mindbender. Other enticements of Galaxyland are the Turboride 3D theater, the Haunted Castle, the Swing of the Century, and the Autosled roller-coaster. Visitors could spend one full day in this park and would still be not be able to go through all the sights and rides.
World Waterpark of West Edmonton Mall
This is a very, very vast indoor waterpark, which was put up in the '80s. Its water slide is the Sky Screamer. Wavepool holds six wave bays, every one with a couple of panels that make waves up to 2 meters in height.
The Ice Palace of West Edmonton Mall
This is a mini-version of the NHL ice rink, and the Oilers of Edmonton sometimes practice in this rink. Still, the rink is used for other sporting events, making it a favorite site for sports lovers. During the Wayne Gretzky era, countless fans flocked to this place.
The Professor WEM's Adventure Golf at West Edmonton Mall
This is an eighteen-hole course, it was first called "Pebble Beach Mini-golf." To the fathers who want to be away from their kids and toddlers for an hour or two, this is a perfect getaway.
